Our Espresso & Ale Sauce is a divine balance of fruity ale and rich espresso flavours, with pops of umami and mustard notes.
For this sauce, we wanted to create something to really work well with BBQ Beef. So we based it on the wonderful deep notes you get from adding complex dark chocolate to dishes.
After extensive testing to get the right balance, we chose a 3-Star Great Taste award-winning Espresso blend (Top 50 products) from the Monsoon estates. It is a blend of Guatemalan, Colombian, Brazilian and African coffees. Rich, full-bodied, sweet, and chocolaty with just a hint of citrus fruit. We combined this with our own 2-Star award-winning Cotswold Pig Ale to create complex notes of fruity, floral, hoppy aromas on the nose, paired well with the espresso and sauce.
We recommend using this innovative BBQ Sauce to add tangy depths to your favourite foods, particularly smoked Beef short rubs and brisket. Awarded an incredible 2-stars at The Great Taste Awards 2020.
