Ross & Ross Gifts have created this premium and glossy adaption of a household favourite, which has been awarded 1-star at The Great Taste Awards 2021. This is a cupboard essential with its sweet apple tangs, chilli warmth, and smoky tomato depths.
We have previously used chillies from India and Mexico in our products, but really wanted to seek something more local and unique. Therefore these jalapeños are grown in the beautiful Oxfordshire. They are turned into chipotles by destalking and splitting the chillies, and then smoked with local cherrywood for about 12 hours. After that, they pop them into the dehydrator for another 12 hours or so, after which they emerge a deep, dark crimson red with delightful aromas.
The Great Taste judges remarked that it is a ‘lovely dark red ketchup with a smoky aroma. It has pleasing flavours and a bit of heat from the chipotle that lingers in the mouth.’
